Couples Tower isle Jamaica - True Island FlarePosted on 12/08/2015
We arrived on Sunday night ... The airport in Montego Bay was not busy at all! Once we were through Customs and Immigration we headed for the Couples Resorts' Lounge - a quick check in and a Red Stripe and we were off!
I would have like the drive more if it had been daytime. The traffic is heavier on a Sunday night because families get together for the weekend and have to head home on Sunday night. We made it in to Ocho Rios in under 2 hours ... Not bad! The driver, Danny, was informative and engaging.
The resort check in was a breeze .. We did not upgrade from our Superior room which is located on the 4th floor of building 5. We quickly freshened up and headed for dinner ... With no reservations, there are only 2 choices and we don't care for buffet service so we headed to the Verandah Restaurant.
The dinner service had a nice atmosphere and good service. My assistant had to remind the waiter about his order a couple of times ... They just brought double of my order instead of what he actually ordered. They were quick to correct and still smiling!
Nightlife was not what we wanted .. So we lounged outside the lobby and listened to the waves crash!
That's what we woke up to, as well! Crashing waves and sunshine!! Breakfast was delish and the beach inviting. This resort has a small cove beach ... You can't walk for miles and miles on it. It has decent bar service and floats are included with each chaise! Floating in the Caribbean Sea is a must!! Loved this!
After a fabulous poolside eating experience we headed out for a Catamaran sailing. We left from the resort by bus and arrived at the port of Ocho Rios within 10 minutes. What a beautiful day for a sail!! Rum punch, cove swimming, rum punch, rocking tunes ... And then back to port!
Monday nights are Beach Party night ... All restaurants are closed and a fantastic meal is served on the beach! Entertainment followed - a true Jamaican experience! We finished our night listening to an awesome Sax player in the Piano Lounge ... Dancing ... Ah!!
